The search for excellence : wine competitions
We regularly take part in wine competitions, whether local in Maisdon-sur-Sèvre or Nantes, national such as Paris or Mâcon but also in international competitions such as Frankfurt. The prize of the Gold medal, the highest on the charts, pushes us towards excellence every day.
During these competitions, a jury made up of wine professionals and confirmed amateurs’ taste and classify the wines presented. Blind and silent tasting is the method : the bottles are anonymous, no one sees the wine they are tasting, or from which producer it comes.
.
Firstly, the jurors rate the color of the wine, its nose and its mouth independently (one mark for each criteria).
Secondly, the uniformity and harmony of the wine is evaluated. Thus, each wine tasted receives its own score for the final classification.
Once the prize list established, the winner is awarded with the Gold, the second the Silver and the third the Bronze. These rewards are presented as diplomas, accompanied by trophies or cups. For a winery, the more the medals are obtained, the more it guarantees a high level of quality.
